Overview
FrameLab ("we", "us") operates useframelab.com, a browser-based tool for adding photo borders and EXIF captions. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it when you use our website and services.
Information we collect
Account information. If you sign in (Google, GitHub, or other providers we enable), we receive your name, email address, and profile identifier from the provider. We store account and session data in our database to authenticate you and manage your subscription tier.
Usage data. We log feature usage (for example, AI rating requests and export events) to enforce free-tier limits, improve reliability, and prevent abuse. Logs may include timestamps, anonymized event types, and your user ID — not the contents of your photos for framing.
Photos and EXIF. White-border framing and EXIF reading run in your browser when possible. Your original image files are not uploaded to our servers for basic framing. If you use AI photo rating, the image (or a processed representation) is sent to our AI provider for analysis only for that request.
Payment information. FrameLab Pro subscriptions are sold through Creem, our merchant of record. We do not store your full payment card details. Creem processes payment data under their own privacy policy.
Technical data. Like most websites, we receive standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) and use cookies or similar technologies for authentication sessions (Auth.js).
How we use information
- Provide and maintain the FrameLab service
- Authenticate users and manage Free vs Pro access
- Process subscriptions and webhooks through Creem
- Run AI ratings when you explicitly request them
- Monitor usage limits, security, and service quality
- Respond to support requests
Third-party services
We rely on trusted processors, including:
- Hosting (Vercel)
- Database (PostgreSQL provider configured in production)
- Authentication (Google, GitHub OAuth)
- Payments (Creem)
- AI analysis (SiliconFlow API when you use AI rating)
Each provider processes data according to their own terms. We share only what is necessary to operate the feature you use.
Data retention
Account and subscription records are kept while your account is active and as needed for billing, legal, and security purposes. Usage logs are retained for a limited period appropriate for operations and abuse prevention. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us.
Your choices
You can use framing features without signing in where the product allows it. Signing in is required for AI rating and Pro features. You may cancel Pro at any time through Creem; when your subscription ends, Pro features revert to Free limits.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Contact us at hello@useframelab.com to exercise these rights.
Children
FrameLab is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
